SAGINAW, MI — A Saginaw man accused of killing a man by shooting him more than a dozen times in a local Family Dollar has rejected a plea offer. As a result, he’s risking life imprisonment if a jury convicts him.

The trial of Ronald L. Kinchen Jr., 39, started Wednesday, Oct. 15, before Saginaw County Circuit Judge Darnell Jackson. Kinchen on Tuesday, Oct. 14, appeared before Jackson and turned down the prosecution’s offer that if he pleaded guilty or no contest to second-degree murder and second-offense felony firearm, they’d dismiss a first-degree murder charge and seven related charges.
