CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — The City of Bridgeport and Police Chief Leon Mark Rogers Jr. have filed formal responses in federal court this week, adamantly denying claims in a high-profile lawsuit filed by former City Engineer Beth A. Fox.

The federal suit, filed by Fox (represented by Sam Harrold III) on June 30, alleges sex-based discrimination, harassment, retaliation, defamation, and violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) during her eight years of employment. The city and Rogers, who recently served as interim city manager, are named as defendants along with former City Manager Patrick B. Ford.
