BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Buncombe County Board of Elections voted unanimously to approve an early voting plan for the 2026 primary election on Tuesday.
Officials said that the plan will be submitted to the NC State Board of Elections for final approval.
According to the board, more than 700 people participated in a public input survey on the proposed plan. Participants left more than 900 comments, and most approved the plan as written. Weekend hours, accessibility, increasing voter education and election publicity were the top concerns.
The early voting plan runs from Feb. 12 to Feb. 28, includes an inclement weather policy and outlines weekend hours. The following voting sites were approved:
