MISSOULA — Montana and Montana State have both been ranked in the top 10 of the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 media poll throughout the first seven weeks of the season.
On Wednesday, they found out they were also among the top 10 teams in the nation in the eyes of the FCS playoff selection committee, which released its first of two in-season top-10 rankings Wednesday afternoon.
The Bobcats (5-2) checked in at No. 4 while the Grizzlies (6-0) were right behind at No. 5. They trailed No. 1 North Dakota State (6-0) and No. 2 South Dakota State (6-0), both Missouri Valley programs, and No. 3 Tarleton State (7-0), which plays in the United Athletic Conference.
