The Louisiana Supreme Court has suspended a Jefferson Parish judge.
Judge Donald “Chick” Foret has been suspended for 30 days without pay and must pay a fine of $7,488.67. Advertisement
According to the Louisiana Supreme Court’s opinion, Foret displayed misconduct in the courtroom on multiple occasions.
He is accused of losing his temper in the court during a murder trial after a table was not available for the evidence to be displayed.
Foret is also accused of not waiting for the murder victim’s family in that case to arrive at court in time for closing arguments.
He is also accused of using profanity in court and voicing his ill feelings toward another attorney, giving the impression he may have a bias.
