An explosion at a New Jersey auto body shop Tuesday night resulted in several other businesses being destroyed as an investigation into what caused the fire remains ongoing, NJ.com reported.
There were no immediate reports of any injuries, but the mayor of Hillside, New Jersey, where the incident unfolded, said on her Facebook page that a few families were displaced from their homes.
She noted that the stores include a bodega and a flower shop.
The fire started about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and burned until after 9 p.m.
Fox 5 News in New York reported that thick smoke from the Hillside blaze was visible in the air as far as Newark Liberty International Airport, about four or five miles away.
