The Hobart Chamber of Commerce is hosting a vinyl record painting fundraiser to benefit dogs and cats in need of a home.

The chamber will host a Howl-O-Ween vinyl record painting fundraiser for the Humane Society of Northwest Indiana from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18. The fundraiser will take place in the Hobart Chamber of Commerce building in the former Pennsy Depot railroad station at 1001 Lillian Street in downtown Hobart.

Tom Lounges Record Bin, a record store in downtown Hobart, is sponsoring the event.

Art teacher Kimberly Bucheit will teach people of all ages how to paint Halloween-themed designs, such as of Jack-o-Lanterns or Snoopy sleeping on top of a pumpkin, with acrylic paint on vinyl records. Lounges said no art talent was needed and the workshop was suitable for all a
