LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - The Alliance to Fight Human Trafficking in SWLA held its annual breakfast this morning at L’Auberge.
Made up of judges, law enforcement, prosecutors, clergy, juvenile justice officials, counselors, and business leaders, the group shares a common goal: to stop human trafficking.
“It happens right here in our backyard. It happens, maybe not every single day, but we’ve had plenty of cases of human trafficking here and right here in Southwest Louisiana. This is not some nationwide deal that happens anywhere else in the world but here in Calcasieu Parish,” Gene Pittman, Alliance Vice Chair, said.
