Jim Carrey could be heading off into the future, as the actor is in talks to star in a live-action movie of the classic cartoon series The Jetsons . This would mark the first leading role - and first role in a film outside the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise - for Carrey since his retirement announcement in 2022.

Reports on October 15 revealed that Carrey is in talks to presumably play George Jetson , the patriarch of the futuristic family at the center of the classic 1960s animated series. It was also announced that Colin Trevorrow, who directed the first three Jurassic World films, is in talks to helm The Jetsons , which is set up at Warner Bros.
