CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) -- Canfield senior standouts Leah Figueroa and Caylee Ortiz officially committed to continue their softball careers in the college ranks.
Figueroa has committed to Division I St. Bonaventure. Ortiz is bound for Columbia College, an NAIA school in South Carolina.
Figueroa has led Canfield High School in home runs in all three seasons with the Cardinals. She has hit 22 homers during her high school career. That includes a 3-homer game which landed her in the OHSAA record books.
She owns a career .373 batting average and 87 career RBI. Starting at catcher since her freshman year, Figueroa has earned All AAC, All NEO, and All State Honors.
Ortiz was the Cardinals' starting pitcher last season. She owns a career pitching record of 13-3 and a career .350 batting average
