ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, Ill. (KWQC) - The Rock Island Arsenal cancelled a retiree appreciation event because of the “ongoing lapse of appropriations.”

The Arsenal cited a lack of funds when cancelling the Retiree Appreciation Day event on Wednesday, according to a Facebook post .

The event was originally scheduled for Saturday and will be rescheduled for later in 2026, officials said.
