Four more daily weather records have been broken on Vancouver Island, including one that dates back nearly 75 years

In alphabetical order – Campbell River, Port Alberni, Port Hardy and Qualicum Beach all beat their daily temperature records for Oct. 14, according to preliminary data from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECC).

In Campbell River, temperatures reached a low of -2.7 °C on Oct. 14, breaking the previous record of -2.2 °C set in 1969.

Meanwhile, Port Alberni set a new record low with -2.6 °C on Tuesday, surpassing the previous record of -2.2 °C set in 1952.

It’s actually the second day in a row that Port Alberni set a new daily temperature record, with Monday breaking a new record for a given Oct. 13 day.
