MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — A beloved Middletown ice cream shop has been sold to a longtime employee.

In a social media post Sunday afternoon, Frosty Freez's former owners Kim and Mark Pachico announced that Cameron Bulk, who's worked at the East Main Road ice cream shop for 11 seasons, has bought the business.

Though the sale became official last week, the Pachicos said Bulk has been "been running the place silently since mid-July."

The Pachicos said the transition has been seamless, especially since Bulk plans to keep Frosty Freez the way it is.

"She is genuinely the perfect person to continue taking care of the Freez, and we are so happy for her," the Pachicos wrote.

The Pachicos, who owned the ice cream shop for 26 seasons, thanked everyone for their support over the years.
