LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Law enforcement in the Derby City, the Music City, and the Marble City are teaming up for the launch of the new initiative, Tri City Police Leadership Academy.

The unique partnership is with the Knoxville and Nashville police departments.

Members of LMPD, mainly middle-manager leaders who supervise officers on the street, are in Tennessee this week, strengthening their leadership skills.

"It’s to invest in them and develop emerging leaders in our profession to bring them to the next level and make sure that our officers have the best leadership and the best supervision, going forward, to serve our communities," LMPD Deputy Chief Emily McKinley said.
