HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Violence during homecomings on college campuses around the country is prompting Texas Southern University to make changes to its events this weekend.

"I've made the decision that homecoming events for Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, including tailgating activities will conclude at 7 p.m.," University President James Crawford said in a Facebook post.

The change sparked mixed reactions among current and former Tigers.

"It's a lot of mixed emotions going on right now, I understand what's going on it's just the objectivity of it," TSU senior Jerry LeDoux III said.
