COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Former South Carolina Gamecocks star Connor Shaw shared details of his medical scare in late September.
In a video released on Instagram, Shaw confirmed he collapsed into sudden cardiac arrest while coaching his son’s flag football game in Simpsonville.
He detailed that off-duty firefighter Caleb Carter and off-duty police officer Zach Moore began to perform CPR for five minutes until an AED arrived.
“Caleb and Zach, thank you for saving my life,” Shaw said. “To the parents and coaches who supported my three kids so that my wife could stay by my side, thank you for stepping up.”
Shaw was released from Greenville Memorial Hospital a few days after the incident.
