A vehicle rollover involving Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel occurred in north Queensland, resulting in one individual suffering life-threatening injuries. The incident took place on Hervey Range Road, close to the Townsville Field Training Area, shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Paramedics responded to the scene, where they treated three individuals. While one person sustained severe injuries, two others were treated and later discharged from Townsville University Hospital. Multiple ambulance crews and a rescue helicopter were dispatched to assist with the emergency.

The Department of Defence released a statement confirming the incident but noted that details were limited. A spokesperson said, "Defence can confirm an incident involving Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel occurred near Townsville last night. The welfare of ADF members and their families is a priority, and Defence's focus is on supporting those involved."

The spokesperson also requested privacy for the affected members and their families, stating, "Due to the developing nature of the incident, no further information will be available at this time."

As of now, there has been no update regarding the condition of the individual with life-threatening injuries. This incident echoes a tragic event in 2021, when two ADF soldiers lost their lives in a similar rollover on a public road near the Townsville Field Training Area. The Department of Defence has committed to providing further updates as more information becomes available.
