NORFOLK, Va. — While a recent authorization has paychecks hitting accounts on Wednesday for millions of military personnel, the prolonged uncertainty of a government shutdown continues to create financial strain for Navy and Marine Corps families.

In response, the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society ( NMCRS) is working overtime to provide essential assistance, often in the form of zero-interest emergency loans, to help service members cover basic necessities.

With 213 locations throughout America and globally, the NMCRS stands as a critical financial safety net. There are several offices in Hampton Roads.
