RUTLAND, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - The license of a child care center in the Town of Rutland is in jeopardy after state staff who visited found what they describe as serious violations that put the health of the children enrolled at risk.
The Vermont Department for Children and Families (DCF) suspended Sycamore Tree Child Care's license on Thursday, October 9. The suspension followed two site visits by a field specialist.
According to the report, a staff member at Sycamore Tree said they had "tapped" a baby in the face for biting, leaving a red mark. Separately, the state field specialist reported staff yelling at, threatning, and using profanity around children.
Another serious violation, according to DCF, occurred when a single staff member was left in charge of six babies, when according t
