AKRON, Ohio — Fans of “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” will have to put their holiday plans on hold. The special event featuring actor Randy Quaid , originally scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 20, at Akron Civic Theatre, has been canceled due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, according to an announcement from the Akron Civic Theatre.

The evening was set to include a screening of the 1989 holiday classic, followed by a live conversation and audience Q&A with Quaid, best known for his role as Cousin Eddie. Attendees were also able to participate in a costume contest and VIP photo opportunities.
