NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The heavy rain New Mexico has gotten over the last week has drastically increased water levels in rivers and reservoirs statewide, which, in turn, is helping irrigators and farmers statewide. Water levels in the Rio Grande have more than doubled in the last week due to the heavy rain, according to the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District. It's also helped reconnect the sections that dried up along the channel through the summer months.
