In the latest development from a sweeping Quebec Mafia investigation, which has already led to the arrest of alleged Mafia leader Leonardo Rizzuto, a 39-year-old man wanted for first-degree murder has been captured in British Columbia.

Pierry Philogène, one of Canada’s 25 most wanted fugitives, was among five suspects still being sought under Project Alliance, a joint Montreal police and Sûreté du Québec operation investigating a series of Mafia-linked killings across the province.

He was arrested Tuesday night in Surrey, B.C., just outside Vancouver, after a public tip to Metro Vancouver Transit Police, police said in a statement. Philogène is accused of first-degree murder and is expected to be transferred to Montreal in the coming days to face charges.
