Isuppose if you want to send the fear of God coursing through someone's veins, you can try to convince them they've broken the law through their own inaction. Apparently, that nefarious tactic has been working in southern Indiana.

While I've been busy sifting through the many texts I've gotten threatening me with legal action if I don't pay this toll fine or that toll fine, my neighbors across the river have been receiving actual (and believable) phone calls about missing jury duty.

The Pike County Sheriff's Office has been receiving numerous complaints about these alarming conversations. It would be one thing if these were more obvious prank calls, but that's not the case. These scammers, unfortunately, do their homework.
