Stephen A. Smith bringing 'First Take' to Magic City Classic in Birmingham Oct. 24

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Ahead of the Magic City Classic later this month, ESPN will be bringing one of its most popular shows to Birmingham.

"First Take," hosted by Stephen A. Smith, will broadcast from Legion Field on Friday, Oct. 24, the day before the game between Alabama A&M University and Alabama State University. Smith, who has hosted the show since 2007, will be joined by analyst and former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton.

Alabama A&M and ASU have faced one another in the Magic City Classic every year since 1924, making it one of the most celebrated HBCU rival games in the country. So far, A&M leads the rivalry 44–42–3.

Entry is free with the gates opening at 7:30 a.m. The show will start at 9 a.m.
