What should have been a simple sick leave request turned into a stressful situation for a Bengaluru banker. The employee, feeling unwell, texted his manager on WhatsApp asking for a day off. Instead of a straightforward approval, he got a long lecture on discipline and work ethics.

The employee, who works in a private bank, shared the screenshots of the chat on Reddit with the title, “What should I do with this kind of manager?” What also grabbed attention was his manager's poor English.
