LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, with the help of K-9 Ash, arrested two people early Wednesday morning following a traffic stop on I-75.

Deputies say 33-year-old Matthew Toonnat and 24-year-old Emily Hill were taken into custody after officers pulled over a vehicle that was weaving on the road. According to officials, K-9 Ash detected the presence of narcotics during an exterior sniff of the vehicle.

Deputies say a search turned up more than 500 grams of methamphetamine, 70 grams of cocaine, and additional drug paraphernalia.

Toonnat and Hill are both facing multiple charges, including first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. They are being held at the Laurel County Detention Center.
