A 14-year-old appeared in court for the first time Wednesday for charges in the stabbing death of a man on Monday night.
Markus McClarty, whose name is being used because he is being tried as an adult, is charged with second-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony. Prosecutors allege that McClarty stabbed 38-year-old Christopher Jackson, who they say is the boyfriend of McClarty's mother. Jackson later died at the hospital.

At that time, the defendant stabbed the victim three times with the knife," Prosecutors said Wednesday in Douglas County court.
