LINDALE, Texas — A sweet celebration is taking place in Lindale, one that's been nearly 80 years in the making.

The Lindale Candy Company marked 79 years of serving up sugary favorites and family traditions on Wednesday. East Texas mother Tori Searcy said the shop brings back the best kind of childhood memories — and now, she has children of her own to share that experience with.

"I had these babies. And we just decided to come back to Lindale because it has been a great hometown for me, and I want them to have the same experience," Searcy said.

Searcy grew up in Lindale, attending school from pre-K all the way through senior year. Now, she's sharing a piece of her childhood by bringing her kids to the same candy store she grew up visiting.
