Emergency crews rescued a man trapped in a Huntsville house fire Wednesday evening.
According to Don Webster with HEMSI, the fire happened just before 5:30 p.m. at a home on Sparkman Drive.
Webster says a witness told firefighters that a man was trapped inside the home at the time of the fire. Webster say firefighters had to break through the window to get the man out of the home.
According to Webster, firefighters and HEMSI workers were able to resuscitate the man. He was then taken to Huntsville Hospital where he is listed in stable condition. A woman was also taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
"It was a great team effort between Huntsville Fire and Rescue and HEMSI on public safety," Webster said.
