We're closing in on Halloween, and time's a' wastin'. Fortunately, we have two more full weekends before the big day, and the big day itself is on a Friday. Still, there are so many places to visit, so you'll have to be judicious in your choices.

First, let me tip my hat to all those teams across the country that work their butts off to put together very creative and terrifying haunted attractions. It takes a crafty mind to look at an empty, beat-up old building and say, "This is perfect. They'll never forget their visit."

I do enjoy a good haunted house, but I've discovered something that's a little off the beaten path, figuratively speaking.
