TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Local law enforcement in Pima County teamed up for the annual two-day domestic violence warrant sweep that saw officers and deputies knocking on hundreds of doors.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said it gets domestic violence reports every day.

It’s such a big problem, a lot of suspects may fall through the cracks.

13 News followed a group of those officers and deputies as they went door-to-door on Tuesday, the first day of the sweep.

“You don’t know what you’re going to walk into, you don’t know who you’re going to be presented with,” said PCSD Det. Gilbert Hernandez.

Every walk-up began with the hope that another person would be brought to justice. There are over 1,200 outstanding warrants for DV charges in Pima County.
