RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -President Trump promised during his campaign, and then later as president. It all came true in July when the “No Tax on Tips” proposal was written into the “Big Beautiful Bill.”
And now the Internal Revenue Service has made a list of workers who can deduct their tips on their tax returns.
“Any kind of labor services,” says Teresa Grant-Decal, a certified tax preparer with Triangle Tax Service in Reno. “If you do hair, nails, electricians, plumbers. I was kind of surprised to see that.”
The list breaks down the qualified workers into categories which include food and beverage, to personal appearance, to recreation and instruction.
The deduction can be applied to an itemized or standard return.
The tip can come in the form of cash, credit card, debit card, or even gif
