:A first information report was registered on Wednesday (October 15, 2025) in connection with the alleged suicide of Assistant Sub-Inspector Sandeep Lather on Tuesday, accusing the late IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar and his family of corruption, officials said. The case was registered a few hours after Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini met with the family at Ladhot village during the day and assured them justice and all possible assistance.

After registration of the case, the family gave its consent for post-mortem and agreed to perform the last rites of the deceased policeman on Thursday afternoon at his native town Julana. The body was shifted to the PGIMS, Rohtak, late in the evening for the post-mortem, which is likely to be conducted by a board of doctors on Thursday morning.
