The ACT government has announced it will expand the range of services Canberra pharmacists are allowed to provide.
The expanded services will include the administering of flu vaccines to children as young as two.
Pharmacists will also be able to treat for mild, acute musculoskeletal pain, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, acne, and acute nausea and vomiting.
The widening of these services follows a pilot program announced in 2024, which allowed pharmacists to treat uncomplicated urinary tract infections and resupply the oral contraceptive pill.
The changes will take effect from early 2026.
