Canberra pharmacies will soon be able to treat conditions like hay fever, reflux, acne, nausea and vomiting, and prescribe strong painkillers for muscle pain.
Parents will also be able to take toddlers aged 2 and above for flu vaccines from next year.
ACT Pharmacy Guild branch president Simon Blacker said the move would make healthcare more convenient, accessible and affordable for Canberrans.
"Pharmacists are well located across the territory," he said.
"This commitment by the ACT government will lead to better outcomes for patients, improved access to care, and ease the pressure on GPs and the ACT health system."
