SALT LAKE CITY — The SafeUT app reported the highest level of threat-related tips ever during the 2025 fiscal year, including nearly 200 emergency intervention tips involving suicide.

The 2025 annual SafeUT report describes 342 emergency interventions involving the SafeUT app, including 199 involving suicide, 127 involving harm or harming others, and 16 involving harm or harming self and others.

The report said:

Only 71 (36%) of the suicide interventions required law enforcement or emergency medical services, with the remaining 128 (64%) deescalated by SafeUT counselors.

Only 27 (21%) of the harm for others interventions required law enforcement or emergency medical services, with the remaining 100 (79%) deescalated by SafeUT counselors.
