East Fremantle residents are being sought to help bring a vision to revitalise an iconic street to life.

The Town of East Fremantle released its George Street Place Plan Vision and Community Action Plan last week and is now seeking people to help bring it to fruition.

The plan was created after George Street businesses and residents were consulted during a “walk-shop” and placemaking workshop in July.

It describes George Street as a “green haven.”

“Think planter boxes, hanging baskets, colourful pavements, cultural murals and community sculptures all coming together to give you respite from the hustle and bustle,” it says.

“And yet, there is always something to do. With many restaurants, retail offerings and a focus on wellness, this place is active both day and night.”
