COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) -Dozens of people gathered Tuesday evening on the pedestrian bridge over Interstate 25 near Monument Valley Park, holding glowing letters that read “NO KINGS.”
Organizers with Indivisible Colorado Springs, District 5, said the “No Kings Bridge Protest” was a peaceful demonstration to promote democracy and accountability in government. They said the message behind the movement is simple: that no one, not even the president, should act like a king.
The No Kings movement began as a national campaign aimed at reminding Americans that political power belongs to voters, not one person in charge. Groups across the country are holding similar rallies and bridge protests this week, calling for nonviolent civic engagement and integrity in leadership.
