SAGLE, Idaho — The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) will be closing the southbound right-turn lane on US-95 starting Thursday at 5 a.m. and will reopen on Monday at 5 p.m.
The reason for the closure is so crews can widen the road and make it safer and easier to perform the right turn.
Drivers can use a detour on Dufort Road, but they need to do it through the southbound lane. Speeds will be reduced to 45 mph within the work zone, according to ITD.
ITD says the construction is a low-cost fix to help reduce crashes within the turn lane.
According to ITD, there will also be an interchange planned for the intersection. This is due to the re-evaluation of the Sagle corridor and ITD's Proposed Action between Lakeshore Drive and Dufort Road. There is currently no funding for the intercha
