WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The Wichita Police Department confirmed the arrest of a 24-year-old man in connection with the drug overdose death of a 15-year-old last month in the city.

In a news release, the WPD said that since the department’s initial response to the Sept. 14 call, “our investigators and overdose analyst have been working to pursue justice and ensure accountability for the people responsible for this senseless death.

Police said that K-9 officers arrested the 24-year-old man at about 5:40 p.m. Wednesday.

“The message should be clear: If you’re involved in (the) distribution of narcotics in our community, we will hold you accountable for placing people in Wichita in danger,” Wichita police said.
