ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Today marked the second day of the Onslow County fair, and organizers are expecting large crowds, especially with the weather forecast.
Onslow County Fair Manager Gerald Griffin is excited about what’s new this year.
“We’ve got a little bit more entertainment, and we’ve got a lot more display stuff and exhibits than what we had last year,” Griffin said. “Our vendor spaces are all sold out, so we’ve got a lot of different vendors.”
While entertainment is one of the fair’s main priorities, it’s also a chance for kids to learn about agriculture.
“Everything that we do is for the education of children so they know where their food comes from,” Griffin said. “Of course, we have entertainment and the rides, which most of the kids are coming for.”
