Erie City Council gave its stamp of approval to a pair of high-profile projects Wednesday night.

Supporters said both will mean significant investment in the city. One resolution okayed a project for the Erie County Convention Center.

That plan calls for the construction of a two-story addition to the existing parking ramp and it passed unanimously. The second resolution clears the way for the construction of new housing in Erie's West Bayfront neighborhood.

This project will see the construction of fourplex and townhouse buildings totalling 61 units built in and near the 600 block of West Second and Third Streets.
