One of President Donald Trump's former advisors slammed some of his allies in the Department of Justice on Wednesday, arguing that they are impeding Trump's prosecution of his political enemies.
Steve Bannon, who served as a senior adviser during Trump's first term, joined MAGA commentator Tucker Carlson on "The Tucker Carlson Interview" on Wednesday to discuss Trump's efforts to "save the Republic." Bannon said DOJ officials like Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino need to "move faster" to prosecute Trump's enemies before time runs out.
"I love Kash and I love Dan Bongino. Kash is like a brother to me," Bannon said. "But they're two guys hanging on by their fingernails. The same with Pam and [Deputy Attorney General] Todd Blanche."
Bannon argued that Trump's Justice Department has not moved fast enough to prosecute the plain-clothes police officers who allegedly agitated the crowd during the January 6 insurrection.
He added that the Department of Justice also has not moved fast enough to remove lawyers who worked on "Crossfire Hurricane," the FBI's investigation into Trump's ties to Russia during the 2016 campaign.
"This is why I say we need 25-30 more prosecutors," Bannon said. "You gotta get on with it."
