The Ballenas Whalers coasted to a 38-0 win over the Spectrum Thunder in a BC High School Football league contest at Kwalikum Secondary field on a rainy Friday afternoon (Oct. 10).

The senior varsity Whalers, after suffering their first league loss the previous week in close game against the Mount Douglas Rams, bounced back in a big way against the Thunder, despite some of their players watching on the sideline with injuries.

It ended up to be an easy passage for the Whalers despite having to call up some junior players who formed half of the Ballenas offensive line against the Thunder.

Head coach Dan Smith said they were able to work on their plays and also saw how well the Whalers would adjust under rainy conditions and with the grounds wet and soft.
