Seminole County has launched Scout, a micro-transit system offering door-to-door transportation in five zones, including Monroe, Lake Mary, Howell, Brantley, and Econ, with plans to replace most Lynx buses by the end of the year.

"Many of you have come to know the Lynx buses, and we're now going to be saving somewhere close to 4 to 10 million dollars by going with this micro transit," Seminole County Chairman Jay Zembower said.

Rides start at just four dollars within a zone, and there are discounts for those who qualify.

Users can book rides through an app or online, similar to requesting a ride-share service.
