Sophomore midfielder/forward Mia Battoni gave the Palisades High School girls soccer team the lead over Southern Lehigh with 16:03 left in the first half in a Colonial League semifinal on Wednesday night.

With the strong defense the Pirates displayed at Salisbury High School, Battoni’s score was the only goal production Palisades needed to secure a spot in the league final.

Palisades, the third seed, clinched a 1-0 victory over the second-seeded Spartans and sent the Pirates to their first league final appearance since 2018. The Pirates haven’t won league gold in 13 years.
