In just over a decade on the international stage, Ariarne Titmus transformed women’s middle-distance freestyle swimming. Taking on the greats and emerging as one of the most decorated swimmers of her generation, the Australian not only conquered the pool but also inspired a new wave of swimmers across the globe. However, the 25-year-old will not return to the pool, as she announced her retirement from competitive swimming. Following this, many of her fellow swimmers, including Katie Ledecky and Summer McIntosh, took a moment to bid an emotional farewell to Titmus.
