A suspect believed to be linked to the deadly shooting at Alcorn State University has been taken into custody.

Officers with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation arrested 26-year-old Taevion Doss in connection with the fatal gunfire that rang out while the university was celebrating homecoming on Saturday. Doss is charged with murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon on school property.

Campus police officers responded Saturday at approximately 6:30 p.m. to a call regarding shots fired in the Industrial Technology Building. Upon arrival, officers found three people suffering from gunshot wounds. One person, identified as 29-year-old Brekyra Fisher, received fatal injuries.
