AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a North Augusta man accused of impersonating a police officer and false imprisonment, according to officials.

Mason Marsh, 22, is accused of conducting a traffic stop on a female driver using blue and red lights.

Officials say these charges stem from an incident reported on Oct. 10.

During the stop, Marsh identified himself as an officer and allegedly told the driver she was pulled over for cutting him off in traffic.

The sheriff’s office says that when the driver asked to see his badge, Marsh was unable to produce one.

The driver told Marsh that she was calling the police. According to the agency, he returned to his car and left, telling her that he had her address.
