In a year where Manchester City spent close to £400million on reinventing their first team, an academy capture for £355,000 was always likely to fly below the radar.

Yet Teddie Lamb is making an instant impact at the Etihad since his arrival from Leyton Orient.

The teenage sensation has scored five goals in five games in the Under-18 Premier League as well as netting a double in a 3-3 Premier League Cup draw with Crystal Palace.

Still only 16, Lamb is already displaying the goalscoring impact that caught the eye of City scouts when the youngster was coming through at Orient.

The forward has been touted as one to watch with his goals grabbing the headlines but his all round ability to hold up the ball and link play also catching the eye.
